Welcome,
I´m a registered psychologist NIP based in Rotterdam, originally from Thailand. I hold two master degrees in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology from Leiden University. I’ve been living in Rotterdam for 20 years, including a 4-year period living in Germany. I can’t pinpoint exactly when, but I truly feel like a world citizen despite my Asian background. I tend to see people beyond their race, religion, or gender. I believe that my life experiences living outside my home country have gradually and unconsciously shaped this open perspective.
If you come to read my words at this point, I want to tell you that everybody carries their own struggles. The secret is, when we accept with our hearts what we actually have in our own hands at this very moment and perhaps let’s go of our “self” just a little, the heaviness we are facing suddenly becomes more bearable. From my own experience, and from witnessing the journeys of others, I now gently smile and respectfully nod at the saying, “Suffering is part of life.” We grow through it.
I love photographing, traveling, seeing art, and simply walking. The photos on this website were mindfully taken with a manual lens. On every trip, I’ve learned not only about the soul of each place but also about myself. I’ve learned to let go of expectations, soften perfectionism, and embrace whatever comes. Walking allows me to connect closely with everything along the streets, including the people I walk with. That sense of moving gently and growing with each step is where the name Bloom Steps comes from.
Bloom Steps is the sister site of Little and Big Steps, where I’ve shared my travel experiences and psychological articles in Thai. Through Bloom Steps, I hope to connect more with non-Thai speakers.
Wishing you all a meaningful life journey.
Warmly,
Apiradee Poungjit
